For homeschooling dads, moms & teens investigating the path from homeschool to college!
$30 per person*, $50 per family if registered by October 11, midnight. Additional $5 for registration after October 11 or on day of workshop.*$30 payable at registration; fees for any additional family members payable on the day of the workshop.
Limited to 40 attendees, first come – first serve. (check this, Crissi – room capacity?)
Bring your own lunch or hearty snack. Light breakfast refreshments will be served.
The program will be packed with practical information, useful handouts, and time for specific questions. We will cover the following topics:
1. Intro: What do I do in each phase of high school?
2. Application Types and Components
What should students and families avoid during the college application process? What elements of the process are different for homeschoolers? How does a homeschooler fill out the Common Application? What does the UC system require of homeschoolers?
How do we navigate the SAT, ACT, AP and PSAT alphabet soup, and what are the options for test prep? What are the strategies for the 2016 revisions of the SAT?
Whom should students ask?
5. Application Essay
How can applicants write a meaningful, compelling essay?
6. Financial Aid
Who, what, where, and how to apply?
7. Question and Answer Time
